The brainchild of Cornwall-based multi-instrumentalist and producer Karum Cooper, Webmoms is a project rich in influences across the musical spectrum. A music obsessive and multi-talented artist, Cooper’s journey to date has provided him with the tools for an outstanding solo career. He first carved his name into the industry as the guitarist for critically acclaimed alt-rock band Hypophora. Aside from touring across the UK and Europe, the band were featured by the likes of Dork, Kerrang!, Upset, BBC Introducing and plenty more.
Spring 2020, Karum wanted to explore his own artistic journey; kickstarted with collaborations with LoFi Hip Hop giant ‘Delayde‘ – their track Sundew’ surpassed 1 million streams to date. Webmoms as a solo entity was officially launched last year with his debut ‘Ruchikar’ EP.
Karum’s nuanced and original take on Lo-Fi Hip Hop, RnB and Soul received critical support from the likes of Complex UK, Stamp The Wax and Magnetic Magazine. The project was given substantial Radio Play across various BBC introducing networks as well as BBC Radio 6. Across Spotify, the EP was also supported on Editorial playlists The Best of Fresh Finds and Fresh Finds ‘The Wave’ as well as by influential tastemakers College Music.
The newest few singles (Rice & Potatoes, On My Way & Jheel respectively) show the Cornwall-based artist showcasing his versatility, stepping away from the world Hip-Hop/Rnb and venturing into a land of acoustic-lofi-folk-tinged artistry.
Webmoms boasts the spirit of collaboration and champions the idea of having as many creatives involved in his release process as possible. From featured vocals and instrumentalists to co-production efforts to illustrators, animators and even clothing brands.
