Karan Gokani, who grew up in Mumbai, India, is an attorney, having graduated from the University of Cambridge and been in practice in London. But food and cooking have always been one of his passions (he worked in restaurants part-time for pleasure during his early years in practice), finally returning to India for a time to concentrate on cooking and the restaurant business. And after meeting and marrying Sunaina Sethi, a partner with her brothers in JKS Restaurants, which focuses on the flavors of Sri Lanka and south India, Gokani has turned his part-time devotion into a full-time career, with delicious results.

Welcome drink
Bite on arrival:
Sri Lankan hodi mussels with aromatic herbs.
Bread and butter:
Coconut roti cooked over fire, curry rubbed, pulled chicken, coconut turmeric crunch, pickled pink onions

Main:
Jaffna spiced asado cull yaw-
Charred hispi topped with a yellow coconut curry, chilli oil, fried shallots, curry leaves
Roast aubergine salad
Milk rice
Burnt chilli lunu miris- A simple relish made with burnt dried red chillies, onions, salt and lime
Vegetarian main – smoked whole roasted squash.

Pudding:
Kithul glazed pineapple with ceylon arrack, coconut dukka and clotted cream. Whole burnt pineapple, glazed with a spiced kithul glaze
Table wine included. Menu is subject to change.

Please note – you must have a festival admission ticket to book a banquet at Rock Oyster.

• Banquets are non-refundable and non-exchangeable.
• Places will only be held for 15 minutes, after which will be automatically cancelled without refund, and resold.

• All our menus are designed as nut-free, but please be aware all our food is prepared in kitchens where nuts, gluten, and other allergens may be present.
• Banquets can only facilitate dietary requirements as detailed on each banquets page.
• Vegan alternatives can be made available, subject to registering via the dietaries form.
• If you need to register any dietary requirements for your booked feasting experiences for yourself, or others in your group, please do so by emailing info@rockoysterfestival.co.uk
• If you are booking for a group, please consider other people’s dietary requirements, we are in a field so don’t have readily available alternatives.
• Babies and little ones can sit on parents’ laps . If they’re in a pushchair please ask on arrival to be seated at the end of a table. Please note, we don’t have a dedicated children’s menu, so if you’re planning to have them eat with you they’ll need to be booked as an additional seat.
