Former Stein’s head chef, Ross is owner and head grower at Padstow Kitchen Garden supplying veg and salad to some of the finest restaurants in Cornwall and the UK. What started out as a hobby for the seventh-generation farmer has grown into making him a regular supplier for local restaurants, an honesty box farm shop and a veg box delivery scheme to people in the local area.
Ross has written monthly columns in the gardening section of The Telegraph, appears monthly on BBC Radio Cornwall’s Gardenline, and has featured on Rick Stein’s Cornwall, BBC1’s Countryfile and more. To keep his hand in the kitchen, he’s also well known for his Pop-up Polytunnel events. Using only ingredients grown or reared at the farm, Ross prides his events on their sustainable and strictly seasonal, zero-mile menus.
For this year’s festival, Ross will be hosting The Mussel Beach BBQs daily from 4-6pm, alongside chefs from the cooking over fire programme, and bringing his produce over to the festival by boat to feed the masses we can’t rate him enough!
